Each Christmas season Jerry Schmitt hosts a special Leo Sports Figures Christmas Party. This started 33 years ago, with the 1956-57 Leo Lightweight Championship Basketball Team of which Jerry Schmitt was a member. Since then, it has expanded to include football players, track and other Leo sports individuals and stars across several class years in the fifties.
